I was looking at this job all wrong.
I had crazy moments already, I’ve cried, almost threw up, checked a few PCA’s and then some.
I came home minding my business and God said you’re looking at it wrong.
Everyday is an oppurtunity to be a vessel of God, to be like Him. Being in this field I thought, I have no idea if the doctor just lost a patient. I have no idea if that patient has been in the hospital for months and didn’t have any visitors.
But if I continue to treat people the way I want to be treated who knows what God can do through that. If I continue to say Hi when I walk pass someone or a simple smile, that only lets people know I see you. That’s healing even if I don’t get that back. The next person that walks by does not deserve the backlash from the previous person. In sales, I’ve learned to treat each person as the first person of the day.
Saying hello may be small but it could go a long way. In my field I don’t speak much, just say maybe three words and on to the next room.
I had a few patents that would come in with the nastiest attitudes. Without knowing there story I continued to be polite, I continued to greet with kindness, I continued to care, to show love, and to cater to them. In the end, I was able to see there progression. From not being able to eat to eating everything on there plate. To not being able to get out of bed to walking the hallways. It was rewarding to think I may have had a place in there healing by just simply being a vessel.
Now, in your field, it may not be needed to give a simple hello. It is required to walk into your place of business with a mindset of joy, for your sanity. Keeping a heart of thanksgiving, a lot of people are not working at the moment. As long as you are staying positive for you, for your sense or peace, you will be able to continue to be a representation of God.
Think about it!
Any position is an oppurtunity to show God’s love by being like Him.
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 7:12 NIV
